Personal Bests Galore: Cate Track Triumphs

The track & field were at Carpinteria HS this afternoon, competing against Carp, Foothill Tech, Thacher, and Villanova. Once again, many personal records and season records were achieved. Here are a few of the highlights:

GIRLS:
Josie Frazier ’24 set a PR in the triple jump, 30’10.75, and ran a season-best in the 100m.
Francesca Sutch ’25 ran in complete control, winning the 1600m and the 800m.
Sophie Blank ’27 had three PRs: 5:54 in the 1600m, 2:33 in the 800m, and 65.2 on the lead-off leg of the 4x400m relay.
Folakemi Oloritun ’26 had two PRs: 47’11 in the discus and 20’4 in the shot put.

BOYS:
George Gordon ’24 won the 400m in a PR of 56.8
Miles Thompson ’27 had two PRs. In the 200m, he placed second in the F/S division with a time of 25.3. He won the F/S division with a leap of 36’8.25 in the triple jump.
Samuel Young ’26 lowered his 800m PR to 2:16 and ran a PR of 56.8 on the lead-off leg of the 4×400-meter relay.
Ethan Rehnborg ’25 ran a PR in the 200m, 24.6.
Fritz Veltman ’24 and Christian Walter ’24 both ran PRs in the 300-meter hurdles: Fritz ran 46.8, and Christian ran 48.9.

The team will compete again on April 13 in the Russell Cup at Carp HS. We hope that you can come over and see the Running Rams in action.
