Yesterday (5/11), three Cate seniors competed at the CIF-SS D4 Track & Field Championships.
Muhsin Abdul-Hakim ’24 finished 9th overall in the Shot Put. This was Muhsin’s first-ever appearance at the finals and a fantastic way to end his track and field career at Cate.
Everest Schipper ’24 placed third in the 1600m run. His time of 4:20.87 was just off his personal best set last week at 4:20.18. Later in the day, he placed fifth in the 3200m. He ends his Cate career with a personal best in the 3200m of 9:29.45.
Sebastian Sutch ’24 placed second in the 1600m and the 800m. His times were season-bests 4:19.79 and 1:57.08. After an injury sidelined Seb for almost eight weeks, we are thrilled that he was able to return and race in the finals.
These three young men have had a tremendous influence on the Cate team over the years and helped Cate finish 5th out of 53 schools yesterday!
