Sebastian Brine’s Four Goals Lead the Rams in Impressive Second League Victory

Yesterday, September 24th, our Cate boys varsity water polo team traveled to Villanova Prep for our second league game of the season. The final score of the match was a 12 – 5 win for the Rams.

Our top scorer on the day was Sebastian Brine ’26 who finished the match with four goals. Seb was able to find scoring opportunities in transition all day. He also finished an outstanding outside shot during a man up situation. With several Rams out of the water with injuries, Seb stepped up and made huge contributions for us offensively.

Elliott Paige ’26 also contributed a stellar performance. He scored three goals, all in different fashion. First he found the back of the net on a counter attack, then a power play, and finally on a penalty shot. He also played lights out defense, helping fuel our win.

The defensive standout was again, Jae Wykoff ’26. He has been so steady for us all year at 2m defense. Jae had another game with over six steals. His defensive presence fuels our counter attack and overall offensive output.

Other Ram scorers were Jae Wykoff (2), Christian Busse ’25 (1), Emannuel Brine ’28 (1), and Fletcher Prince ’28 (1).

I was proud of the showing our group had against Villanova. We looked sharp on both ends of the pool and dictated the flow of the game. Looking ahead, we have two games next week. First on 10/1 against Foothill Tech and then a day later we match up with Carpeneria High School. Go Rams!
