Earlier today, the Varsity teams traveled to the Mt. Sac Invitational, the largest cross-country meet in the country.
The girls team finished second in the Division 5 race. Branson of Marin County won the race. In comparing all the girls’ southern section D5 results on the day, the Cate team was second slightly behind Viewpoint School based on team time.
Senior Francesca Sutch led the way by finishing 4th in the race with a personal record at Mt. Sac of 19:55. Sophomore Sophie Blank, in her first cross country season, finished 14th, Junior Jen Won was 26th, Senior Stella Rogers finished 34 and Senior Kate McCoy also in her first and only cross country season finished 39th. Senior Talullah Bates was 55th, and another newcomer, senior Daisy Gemberling, was 78th.
The boys finished 5th out of 17 full teams in the Division 5 race. Junior Jordan Ryan placed 7th with a time of 18:07. Freshman Bruce Li was second for the Rams, followed by Junior Ian Sheshunoff and Sophomores Jackson Muller and Miles Williams. Seniors Eli Meisel and Max DeVore finished after Miles and Jackson.
Up next for everyone on the team will be the Santa Barbara County Championships Wednesday 10/30 in Lompoc.
