Rams Extinguish Dragons, Move to 6-0 in the League

Cate secures a commanding 16-2 win over Foothill Tech, with contributions from 15 different players to improve to 6-0 in league play, 10-1 overall.

How it Happened
After spending last week’s undefeated stint in the doubles lineup, Lisa Hasebe ’27 and Jade Wang ’28 returned to the singles side to collect a pair of convincing sweeps over the top Foothill Tech players. Hasebe, defending Tri-Valley League singles champion, moves to 14-1 on the season, while Wang is a perfect 13-0 in her freshman league campaign.

Cate also achieved a pair of wins over Foothill Tech’s #1 doubles team, with Colette Chang ’25 and Reyna Takahashi ’27 cementing their position as the team to beat in league doubles play, while frosh pairing Elly Edwards ’28 and Claire Tang ’27 picked up the upset victory. Takahashi and Chang were the runner-up team in league individuals last season, and now move to 11-1 overall this season together (6-0 in league play).

Cate also received wins from Claire Bianchi ’26 and Evita Ferrone ’27 in singles and from Elsie Chamberlain ’26, Chelsea Newlove ’28, Ivy Huang ’28, Gwendi Rogers ’27, Edie Abbott ’27, Riya Mitera ’28, and Josie Goldhirsh ’28 in doubles.
