Rams Rally to Victory Over Carpinteria in Final Match

Freshmen shine in impressive varsity debuts as Cate sweeps the next three sets for a 3-1 win

Cate High School defeated Carpinteria High School 3–1. After a narrow loss in the first set, the team responded with resilience, sweeping the next three sets to secure the win.

Freshman JV player Sam Lambiotte made an impressive varsity debut, running the 6-2 offense alongside veteran setter Zadin Stephens. Sam showed confidence and skill in his first start at the varsity level.

Peter Markham, another promising young player, made a strong offensive impact from the right-side pin, tallying six kills. Christian Busse ’25 contributed effectively from the middle, adding five kills of his own.

Freshman standout Kunqi anchored the defense with 13 digs, showcasing poise and consistency in the backcourt.

Zadin, normally the team’s primary setter, stepped up offensively as well—mixing in a dynamic attack with smart court placement. He finished with 11 assists and 5 kills, demonstrating his versatility and leadership on the court.

This match served as a valuable opportunity for our underclassmen to step up and showcase their potential. It marked an exciting close to our season and highlighted the depth and future strength of the Cate HS volleyball program.
