Position: Housekeeping & Facilities Technician
Department: Facilities
Reports to: Director of Facilities & Master Planning, Jules Nau
Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Salary: $16/hr. – $26/hr.

Summary 

Ensure the highest level of cleanliness and condition of the school to ensure guest, faculty, and student body satisfaction. Responsible for providing our residents with full janitorial services while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness at all times.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Clean all areas as assigned within the required time limit
  • Update daily assignment sheets throughout the day. Turn in the assignment sheet and keys to the Housekeeping Supervisor at the end of the shift.
  • Change bed linens and make beds
  • Lift and move furniture in the room.
  • Clean rugs, carpets, and upholstered furniture using vacuum cleaner and/or proper chemicals.
  • Dust and clean all furniture including picture frames, bed frames, lamps, TVs, armoires, desks, etc.
  • Thoroughly clean the bathroom area by washing the showers/tub, sink, floor, toilet, etc.
  • Polish woodwork and metalwork such as fixtures and metal fittings.
  • Empty wastebaskets.
  • Replenish bathroom supplies and terry.
  • Sort, count, fold, and distribute linen to the linen closets.
  • Organize and stock cleaning carts and organize linen closets on floors assigned.
  • Transports trash and waste to disposal area.
  • Conduct deep cleaning projects as needed/requested.
  • Clean hallway, restrooms, stairwells, and other work areas as needed.
  • Perform general cleaning tasks using standard school cleaning products to adhere to health standards.
  • Turn in all Lost and found items following the standard procedures.
  • Report maintenance issues and necessary area repairs.
  • Ensure work area is clean when finished.
  • All other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Environmental conditions are inside, a job is considered inside if staff spends approximately 75 percent or more of the time inside. Temperature is moderate and controlled by the school’s environmental systems.
  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to seven (7) hours in length. Must be able to exert well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously. Must be able to exert well-paced ability in Iimited space and to reach other departments of the school on a timely basis.
  • Must be able to lift up to 45 lbs. as needed.
  • Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 80 lbs
  • Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, and hearing ability and visual acuity.
  • Hearing, smelling, tasting, and visual ability to observe and distinguish product quality and detect signs of emergency situations.
  • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with other staff, and supervisors.
  • Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near and color vision and depth perception.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks occasionally.
  • Ability to work primarily with fingers to pick, pinch and carry out substantial movements (motions) of the wrists and hands as well.

 

EXPERIENCE

Experience in the hospitality, Medical, or School industry preferred.

Job Description

The Groundskeeper/Porter is responsible for the daily upkeep and maintenance of the community, including buildings, landscaping, parking lots/structures, trash areas and common areas, and performs a range of duties to include but not limited to; painting, cleaning, removing items left behind in vacated homes, and pool maintenance. The Groundskeeper/Porter is responsible for conducting all job duties in accordance with company policy and all safety protocols, and supports the overall objective of meeting the expectations of the based on the respective operation.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Curb Appeal-by definition

  • Maintain the outside appearance of the apartment community, including buildings, landscaping, trash areas, and parking lots.

Daily cleaning of common grounds:

  • Clean debris from grounds and all common areas daily. Debris which is to be disposed of includes,but is not limited to, trash, cigarette butts, pet waste, leaves along curbing and other unsightly items that will distract from the appearance of the flower beds,  sidewalks, grass areas, parking lots, breezeways and dumpster enclosures.
  • Keep the street and parking lot curbing free of debris.
  • Hose out dumpster and keep area clean and free of debris.
  • Keep common area light globes clean and free of debris.
  • Keep pool decking and furniture hosed down as needed (based on seasonal conditions).
  • Arrange pool furniture daily in a neat and organized manner.
  • Trash receptacles to be emptied a minimum of once daily.
  • Sidewalks, stairways and breezeways to be swept and kept free of debris.
  • Landscaped areas to be kept free of debris.
  • Daily upkeep of amenity spaces including but not limited to playgrounds, basketball/sports courts, tennis courts, etc.

Maintenance of Common Grounds

  • Painted curbing should always appear freshly painted
  • Parking lot should appear freshly striped
  • Bumper blocks are to be in a neat and orderly fashion.
  • Pool and stairway fencing to be painted when needed.
  • Dumpsters to be maintained in operable condition.

Equipment provided for your use to complete the job will not be abused. You will maintain all equipment. Your supervisor should be informed of repair needs.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar role, preferably within Residential Property Management. Experience in hotel maintenance, facilities maintenance, or
  • May Require a Valid Driver’s License, a good driving record, current motor vehicle insurance that meets State requirements, and an operable vehicle that meets FPI’s Driving Standards and Personal Vehicle Use policy.
  • Must be able to wear a respirator, if required, and have the ability to be medically fit for duty and cleared to wear a respirator, and comply with FPI’s facial hair policy.
  • Must be proficient in speaking, reading, and writing in English.
  • Basic computer skills (email, internet, etc.).
  • May be required to provide and maintain own tools.

Position: School Bus Operator
Department: Facilities

Status: Exempt
Salary: $27.00-$34.00 with School Bus Certification, Air Brakes, and available to help with cleaning or maintenance.

As a California School Bus Driver, your primary responsibilities include:

Safety and Compliance-Adhere to all traffic and bus safety regulations as mandated by the state of California. Ensure the safety of all passengers at all times.

Operate the school bus in a safe and efficient manner. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the bus is in good working condition. Report any maintenance issues immediately.

Maintaining discipline ensures passenger safety. Report any incidents to the dispatch department Immediately or as soon as you safely can.

Assist special needs students in getting on and off the bus, including operating any necessary equipment (like wheelchair lifts).

Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week

Schedule:

  • the days and time will be Sunday to Thursday 9:00 am to 5:30 pm

Supplemental Pay:

  • Overtime pay

Experience:

  • School bus driving: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • Driver’s License (Preferred)
