Consistency and Talent Prevail in Singles and Doubles Finals

Today, the Rams won the Tri-Valley League individuals in both singles and doubles.

Kakeru Hirofuji ’27 represented Cate in the singles division. In the semifinals, he beat Gordon Huckestein from Foothill Tech 6-3, 5-7 (10-6). In the other semifinal, Drew of St. Bonaventure 6-3, 3-6 (10-8). In the final, Hirofuji beat Drew Farley 6-1, 4-6, (10-5).

In the doubles final (the doubles semis played out on Monday), Nate Newlove ’25 and Harry Su ’25 of Cate beat Greg Davis and Dylan Files 7-6(5), 6-4. This is their second year running as doubles champs.

Cate has a final league match at Dunn School this Friday at 4 pm.
