Emmanuel Brine Leads Balanced Scoring Attack as Rams Cruise to Victory

Prince adds a goal of his own to the combined team total of 20

On Thursday, September 12th, the Cate varsity water polo team hosted Channel Islands High School for a non league game. The final score of the match was a 20-2 victory for Cate.

Our top scorer on the day was 9th grader Emmanuel Brine. He would finish the contest with four goals. Emmanuel scored a flurry of buckets from the interior of Channel Islands defense. His physicality and competitive spirit was unmatched today in the water.

Other scorers for the Rams were Baye Breene ’25 (3), TJ Weir ’25 (3), Ashwin Patel ’26 (2), Jae Wykoff ’26 (2), Sebastian Brine ’26 (2), Phin Stephenson ’25 (1), Elliott Paige ’26 (1), Lucian Tann ’25 (1), and Fletcher Prince ’28 (1).

Andrew Sheshunoff ’27 and Kaden Greene ’27 both recorded 3 saves a piece from the cage. Solid positioning in the goal and great outlet passes helped anchor our defense and fuel our counter attack.

It was an outstanding all around showing from our guys today. They were sharp on both ends of the pool and played at a very high level. Looking ahead, our next match is Friday, September 13th against Oxnard High School. Go Rams!
