The boys tennis team attained its third league win over Dunn 12-6.
The Rams singles lineup, composed of Kakeru Hirofuji ‘27, Harry Su ‘25, and James He ‘27, had a serious wrestle with the Earwigs’ substantial opponents. Ultimately, three essential games were won, with Hirofuji ‘27 and Su ‘25 each triumphing over the Earwigs’ #3 6-1. Hirofuji ‘27 also successfully avenged his brothers by beating the Earwigs’ #2 6-4 after both Su ‘25 and He ‘27 fell short, 6-7(5-7) and 4-6, respectively.
The doubles department was outstanding today, winning 9/9 matches that weren’t as easy as the scoreboard might imply. Most notably, Graham Clinger ‘26 and Alex Gallegos ‘26 came back from 2-5 down to triumph in a tiebreaker over a consistent #1 doubles team from the Earwigs, final score 7-6(7-3). The other two rams doubles teams, Andrew Jayich ‘28/Kendrick Suen ‘28 and Ian Sheshunoff ‘26/Alex Danely ‘28, also had close battles with the Earwig #1s, with both teams winning 6-4.
With four starters missing, the Rams’ performance was strong today, a testament to the team’s impressive depth. The team is back fighting on Friday against Camarillo High School.
