Alesia Aceves joined Cate with a background in library science and a focus on community engagement. Since 2021, she served as a librarian at Aliso and Summerland Elementary Schools, creating K-5 library events and completing her MLIS, where her studies emphasized enhancing library engagement with the Latinx community. She also interned at Carpinteria Community Library, specializing in research and collection development for both English and Spanish resources.

Outside of work, Alesia is an editor for Mowgli Quarterly, an online periodical highlighting inspiring stories. She enjoys exploring new coffee shops, reading, traveling –especially to visit her family in Mexico – and spending time with her partner, Francisco, and their cat, Tozi.
