Benjamin Soto has been a cornerstone of Cate’s athletics program for 31 years, serving as head coach for both baseball and football. Under his leadership, Cate teams have achieved remarkable success, including CIF Finals appearances in baseball (1993, 2009) and a CIF Championship in football in 2021. Benjamin has been recognized as 8-Man Division 1 Coach of the Year (2021), Tri-County Baseball Coach of the Year (2021), and Tri-Valley Football Coach of the Year (2024). In 2018, he received the Positive Coaches Alliance National Coaches Award.

Benjamin lives off campus with his wife, Julie, and their daughter, Andrea. His son, Dave '08, also coaches and works on the Mesa. Outside of coaching, he is dedicated to mentoring athletes and fostering a positive sports culture.
