Avani Patel Shah is an award-winning communications and marketing professional specializing in independent schools. She currently serves as the Director of Marketing & Communications. With prior experience at The Archer School for Girls, Columbus School for Girls, and Ravenscroft School, Avani is a dedicated storyteller who uses technology and language to share the unique narratives of school communities.

At Cate, she also serves as the faculty advisor for El Batidor, the campus newspaper, and teaches a journalism elective to seniors in the Spring.

A graduate of North Carolina State University, Avani considers Raleigh, NC, her hometown. In her free time, she enjoys reading, board games with friends, and traveling with her husband, Hersh. She cherishes time spent with their son, Samay, and their dog, Echo.
